Sachin-Jigar

Before either name was on a poster, both men were the labour behind other composers. They assisted Rajesh Roshan and Pritam for years and programmed and arranged music for A. R. Rahman, Amit Trivedi, Anu Malik, Nadeem-Shravan and Sandesh Shandilya. Jigar met Sachin through Amit Trivedi while assisting Pritam, and it was Pritam who suggested the two of them work as a pair.

They composed a guest song for Life Partner in 2009 and got their first full album in 2011 with F.A.L.T.U. That is an unusually long arranging apprenticeship, and it is audible. Their records are built by people who know exactly how a track is assembled, not just how a tune goes.

Bey Yaar in 2014 was their first Gujarati score and the first post revival Gujarati hit. Wrong Side Raju followed in 2016 and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Gujarati at the 64th National Film Awards. Love Ni Bhavai and Best of Luck Laalu came in 2017, Chaal Jeevi Laiye! in 2019, Kehvatlal Parivar and Aum Mangalam Singlem in 2022, Kutch Express in 2023 and Mom Tane Nai Samjay in 2025.

Nine soundtracks over eleven years, in a language whose entire annual release slate is smaller than one Bombay studio's. Nobody was making them do it. The Gujarati industry has no budget with which to compete for a composer who is simultaneously scoring Dharma productions, which means those nine scores were taken for a reason that is not the fee.

Look at the calendar rather than the credit list. Bhediya opened in Hindi in November 2022 and Kutch Express opened in Gujarati eight weeks later, both scored by them. Kutch Express then won three awards at the 70th National Film Awards. In 2025 they scored Thamma, written by Niren Bhatt, another Gujarati writer running two careers in parallel, and in the same period they had a Gujarati release in Mom Tane Nai Samjay.

Sachin also sings in the language rather than only supervising it. His Gujarati vocal credits include Bhuli Javu Che and Yaad Chhe from Chor Bani Thangaat Kare, Chaand Ne Kaho from Chaal Jeevi Laiye!, and Radha Ne Shyam Mali Jashe with Shruti Pathak. Singing in a language is a slower, more exposed commitment than composing for it.

Two corrections belong on any honest page about them. First, credit hygiene: their own Wikipedia filmography lists Chor Bani Thangaat Kare from 2017 among their films, but that film's music credit names Parth Bharat Thakkar, while the same article's soundtrack section hands the song album to Sachin-Jigar. An encyclopedia arguing with itself is not a verified credit, so we count nine Gujarati scores, not ten. What is not in dispute on that film is Sachin's singing, two songs of it, and a singing credit is not a scoring credit.

Second, a documented legal matter, stated once and left there. The English Wikipedia article on the duo records that Sachin Sanghvi was arrested by Mumbai police on 23 October 2025 after a woman in her late twenties alleged sexual assault, that he was released on bail shortly afterwards, and that his lawyer described the allegations as absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated. The matter has not been tested in court and nothing here should be read as a finding either way.

For a duo with this much airplay, the trophy shelf is thin. Their Wikipedia awards table lists Mirchi Music Award nominations and no wins: Music Composer of the Year, Best Background Score and Album of the Year at the 8th edition in 2015 for ABCD 2 and Badlapur, Best Song Producer for Jee Karda, and three more nominations at the 10th edition in 2017 for songs from Meri Pyaari Bindu and Hindi Medium.

Their strongest credentials are films, not statuettes. Two of the Gujarati films they scored, Wrong Side Raju and Kutch Express, carry National Film Awards. That is a better sentence than any nomination list.
