The most credited playback singer in Gujarati cinema is Divya Kumar, with verified song credits across fourteen Gujarati films including Bey Yaar, Wrong Side Raju, Gujjubhai the Great, Reva and Kutch Express. Aishwarya Majmudar leads among women with ten, spanning Kevi Rite Jaish, Hellaro, Love Ni Bhavai and Laalo. Siddharth Amit Bhavsar has nine, including all five tracks on Sharato Lagu and Dhun Laagi from Love Ni Bhavai, and Parthiv Gohil has eight, including Chhello Divas, Kutch Express and Laalo. Arijit Singh sang exactly one Gujarati song, Satrangi Re from Wrong Side Raju, released on 23 August 2016.
Gujarati cinema has no playback establishment. There is no equivalent of the Mumbai session circuit, no roster of contracted voices, no reliable credits database. A composer casts a soundtrack the way a director casts a film, one track at a time, and the person who ends up on the microphone might be a Mumbai playback veteran, a folk singer off the Navratri circuit, an independent artist with a YouTube channel, or the actress who is already on set. That flexibility is why the music got interesting after 2012 and why nobody can tell you who the top playback singers are without going and counting.
So this page counted. Every credit here was read off a film article's soundtrack section or, where the film page carries no soundtrack section, off the released album listing, and then attributed by name and track. That method produces a ranking that will surprise most people who follow Gujarati cinema, because the most credited voice in the language is not a name anybody chants. It is a working session singer with seventy two thousand followers who has quietly sung on fourteen films while the folk stars with millions of followers took the headlines.

How this list was built
One rule: a credit counts only if it is attached to a specific song in a specific Gujarati film, on the film's own record. Rankings use the number of distinct films a singer has a documented song credit on, not the number of tracks, because reprises, sad versions and theme variants inflate track counts and tell you nothing. Where a film page has no soundtrack section, the released album listing was used and is named in the entry, which is how Kutch Express is counted. This page deliberately does not duplicate its two sibling lists. The Gujarati music directors and playback singers page ranks composers and the industry as a whole by awards and credentials. The Gujarati folk singers and garba artists page covers the live Navratri and dayro circuit, and Aditya Gadhvi, Kirtidan Gadhvi and Jigardan Gadhavi are profiled there rather than here even though all three appear in the credit chart below, because their careers are live careers with film work attached rather than the reverse. Three traps were caught while building this. A name search surfaces Shastra as a Gujarati Udit Narayan soundtrack, but the film page shows Shastra to be a 1996 Hindi action film directed by Sanjay Khanna, so every credit from it was discarded. Parth Bharat Thakkar's own discography claims Bey Yaar and Love Ni Bhavai while both film pages credit Sachin-Jigar, so those are treated as disputed and not counted. Karsandas Pay and Use is credited on its film page to Amar Mohile, not to the duo commonly named for it. Every entry carries either a free licensed Wikimedia Commons photograph, checked at file level for licence tag, author and the plausibility of the own work claim, or an Instagram account confirmed by direct scrape on 29 July 2026 with a blue check or a corroborating bio. Nakash Aziz, Vishal Dadlani and Mika Singh all have real Gujarati credits and free licensed photographs but sit at one or two songs each, so they are named in the prose rather than given entries.
The regulars: who Gujarati producers actually call
Six singers carry most of the vocal work in modern Gujarati cinema. Between them they appear on nearly every soundtrack that mattered after 2012.
1Divya Kumar
Divya Kumar is the most credited playback singer in Gujarati cinema and almost nobody outside the industry can name him. His English Wikipedia page carries a dedicated Gujarati film credits table, which is a courtesy no other singer here receives, and it lists Happy Family Pvt Ltd, Bey Yaar, Wrong Side Raju, Chor Bani Thangaat Kare, Colorbaaj, Reva, Chhutti Jashe Chhakka, Baap Re Baap, Kehvatlal Parivar, Aum Mangalam Singlem, Vanilla Ice Cream and Bachu Ni Benpani. Add Gujjubhai the Great, where the film page credits him with Gujjubhai Jule Che, and Kutch Express, where the released album gives him Udvun Che Aakash Ma with Jahnvi Shrimankar, and the count reaches fourteen films.
The range inside that list is the point. Peecha Raja on Bey Yaar is a Sachin-Jigar pop track. Gori Radha Ne Kado Kaan on Wrong Side Raju is a folk standard rebuilt for a multiplex. The Reva title track is a devotional river song under Amar Khanda. Two of the recent ones, Vanilla Ice Cream and Bachu Ni Benpani, were composed by Siddharth Amit Bhavsar, who is three places down this page. He has 72,277 verified followers, which is around one sixty sixth of Geeta Rabari's following on the folk page. Playback in this language is a session job, and he is the person who has done more of it than anyone.

2Aishwarya Majmudar
Aishwarya Majmudar has sung on more Gujarati films than any other woman, and the ten titles trace the entire arc of the new wave. Aa Safar with Parthiv Gohil and Bheeni Bheeni solo on Kevi Rite Jaish in 2012. Prem Ni Masti on Vitamin She. Asvaar, the opening track of Hellaro, sung with the Kutchi Sufi singer Mooralala Marwada. Rangdariyo on Montu Ni Bittu. Odhni Odu on GujjuBhai Most Wanted. The female version of Vhalam Aavo Ne on Love Ni Bhavai. Chandaliyo on Naadi Dosh. Pratham Shree Ganesh on Sharato Lagu. Two tracks on Trisha on the Rocks. Kaan Tari Re on Laalo with Kirtidan Gadhvi.
That line runs from the film that restarted the industry to the only Gujarati film to win Best Feature Film at the National Awards to the highest grossing Gujarati film on record. Nobody else on this page is on all three. One small thing is worth flagging because it explains why credit counting in this language is so hard: film pages spell her both Aishwarya Majmudar and Aishwarya Majumdar, and a naive name search misses half her filmography. Four of the ten titles above are filed under the second spelling.

3Siddharth Amit Bhavsar
Siddharth Amit Bhavsar sings, composes, produces and writes, and the reason he has nine Gujarati films as a voice is partly that he is often already in the room. Dhun Laagi on Love Ni Bhavai is his, and it is the second most played song on that soundtrack after Vhalam Aavo Ne. Prem Ni Masti on Vitamin She with Aishwarya Majmudar. Pakki Amdavadi on Montu Ni Bittu. Dekhato Nathi on Ventilator. Three tracks on Luv Ni Love Storys, including Ghoome Jaaye Re. Saavariya in its upbeat version on Aum Mangalam Singlem. Jivi Le on Bachubhai. Vaat Che on Jhamkudi.
The outlier is Sharato Lagu, where he is on all five tracks: Pankhi Re, Mann Melo, the Mann Melo sad reprise, the Mann Melo theme and Pratham Shree Ganesh. Parth Bharat Thakkar composed it and effectively handed him the album. As a composer in his own right he wrote the songs for Vanilla Ice Cream and Bachu Ni Benpani, both of which Divya Kumar sang, which means the top and third names on this page have been swapping roles for years. His handle is musicwaala and his bio is four job titles and a business email, which is roughly the correct amount of self promotion for someone with this many credits.

4Parthiv Gohil
Parthiv Gohil has sung on the film that restarted Gujarati cinema, the comedy that proved it could sell tickets, the drama that won three National Awards and the devotional epic that broke the box office. Aa Safar on Kevi Rite Jaish in 2012. E Deewangi on Vitamin She. Kehvu Ghanu Ghanu Che on Chhello Divas in 2015, which is still the song that Gujarati audiences of that generation sing at reunions. Jay Maa Bhadrakali on Montu Ni Bittu. Two tracks on Ventilator with Aditya Gadhvi. Soni Gujarat Ni with Mika Singh and Amastu Amastu on Golkeri. Mangamta Divso, the opening track of Kutch Express, with Manasi Parekh. Navee Savaar on Laalo in 2025.
Eight films across thirteen years, with a straight line through every commercial turning point the industry has had. His Hindi work runs through Devdas, Saawariya, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Kisaan, and in Gujarati he is also known for Aasmani, Thai Jashe and Soni Gujarati Ni outside film. He later moved into production, which is a different story told elsewhere on this site. As a voice he is the closest thing Gujarati cinema has to a house tenor: warm, unshowy, and hired when a scene needs to land rather than when it needs to trend.

5Bhoomi Trivedi
Bhoomi Trivedi sang Vaagyo Re Dhol, the closing track of Hellaro, which makes her one of four voices on the soundtrack of the only Gujarati film to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. The other four films on her Gujarati count are Chaal Jeevi Laiye!, where she and Keerthi Sagathia share Ghanu Jeevo and its reprise, Kutch Express, where the two of them share Ude Re Gulaal, Aum Mangalam Singlem, where she takes Latko, and Hurry Om Hurry, where she sings Vahlida with Kirtidan Gadhvi.
Notice the pattern: on two of her five she is paired with Keerthi Sagathia and on a third with Kirtidan Gadhvi. Gujarati composers use her as the top end of a duet, a big open voice set against a rougher folk one, and it works often enough that they keep doing it. Her national profile came from Ram Chahe Leela in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013 and Husn Parcham in Zero in 2018. A voice with that much power usually gets absorbed permanently into Hindi. Hers keeps coming back to a language that pays a fraction as much.

6Keerthi Sagathia
Keerthi Sagathia is the son of the Gujarati folk singer Karsan Sagathiya, which means the gravel in his voice is inherited rather than affected. His five Gujarati films are Bey Yaar, where he sings Rakhad Rakhad, Wrong Side Raju, where he takes Katputhla with Jasleen Royal, Chaal Jeevi Laiye!, where he shares Ghanu Jeevo and its reprise with Bhoomi Trivedi, Luv Ni Love Storys, where he sings Manzil with Aditya Gadhvi and Siddharth Amit Bhavsar, and Kutch Express, where he and Bhoomi Trivedi take Ude Re Gulaal.
He came to national attention on Fame Gurukul in 2005 and appeared as a celebrity guest singer on X Factor in 2011, and his Instagram bio lists his Hindi hits rather than his Gujarati ones: Switty Switty, Tum Tak, Mujh Mein Tu, Shubh Din, Mayya Mayya, Bhai Bhai. That is a fair reading of where the money is. What he brings to a Gujarati soundtrack is a folk timbre inside a modern studio arrangement, which is exactly the trade this whole industry runs on. Gujarati cinema never built a separate playback tradition. It borrows the folk voice and puts a mix around it.

The voices the new wave found
Three singers who exist on Gujarati soundtracks because a composer went looking outside the session circuit.
7Yashita Sharma
Yashita Sharma has three Gujarati films and all three are worth naming individually. Aasmani on Luv Ni Love Storys, composed by Parth Bharat Thakkar. Pankhi Re on Sharato Lagu, sharing the track with Aditya Gadhvi and Siddharth Amit Bhavsar. Maade Mane Lai Ja on Laalo in 2025, sharing it with Ashish Kulkarni and Kirtidan Gadhvi. Three films, three composers, and in each case she was brought in as a specific colour rather than as a regular.
She is a Mumbai based independent singer and songwriter with a Spotify profile she promotes herself and a bio that describes her as a singer, a songwriter and somebody's mother, in that order. That is the profile Gujarati composers increasingly reach for: not a contracted playback voice, but a working independent artist who can be booked for one song and who brings a texture the local pool does not have. She has 72,377 verified followers, almost exactly the same as Divya Kumar, who has eleven more Gujarati films than she does.

8Manasi Parekh
Manasi Parekh sang the opening track of the film she starred in, produced and then won a National Film Award for. Mangamta Divso, the first song on the Kutch Express album, is her and Parthiv Gohil, composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Sneha Desai. Two years later she took the title song of Jhamkudi alongside Kruz and K.Deep of Aghori Muzik. Her National Film Award for Best Actress came in 2024 for her portrayal of Monghi in Kutch Express.
Only two film credits, and they matter out of proportion to the number, because they describe how Gujarati cinema staffs itself. In an industry this small the actress can be the singer, the singer can be the producer, and the producer can be the person on the poster. Nobody in Mumbai would build a soundtrack that way. Here it is normal, and on Kutch Express it produced an album where the female lead opens the film in her own voice, which is a thing that almost never happens anywhere in Indian cinema.

9Ishani Dave
Sachin-Jigar put Ishani Dave on Khune Thi Khune Thi on the Aum Mangalam Singlem soundtrack in 2022, sharing the track with Aamir Mir and Divya Kumar, and then repeated the pairing on the album's symphony version. One film, two tracks, and a career that otherwise runs almost entirely outside cinema. She is the daughter of the folk singer Praful Dave, who is profiled on this site's folk and garba list, which makes the two of them a straight two generation comparison inside one family.
The arithmetic is the interesting part. Her father has just under sixty thousand followers and a Kavi Kag Award. She has 298,825 followers, one film credit and no encyclopedia entry at all. The only free licensed photograph of her anywhere is one she uploaded to Wikimedia Commons herself in January 2021. That is the modern independent Gujarati artist in three facts: the audience is direct, the film work is occasional, and the archive is whatever the artist decides to put there.

The voices Gujarati cinema hires in
Seven singers from outside the language, each brought in for a specific track. Together they explain what a Gujarati producer is actually buying when the budget stretches.
10Arijit Singh
The Wrong Side Raju page states it flatly: Satrangi Re was the first Gujarati song Arijit Singh ever sang. Sachin-Jigar composed it, Niren Bhatt wrote it, Dawn Cordo shares the vocal, and it was released on Red FM 93.5 on 23 August 2016. It crossed a million YouTube views inside twenty four hours. That is what a Gujarati soundtrack is buying when it books the biggest playback voice in India: one song, one news cycle, and a trailer that gets watched by people who were not going to watch it.
He has not sung a second one. That is worth sitting with, because it is the single clearest illustration of how this market works. A Gujarati film can afford one Arijit Singh track once, as a marketing line item, and then the album goes back to the people who actually live in the language. Wrong Side Raju itself went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Gujarati, and the songs from it that people still play are Gori Radha Ne Kalo Kaan, sung twice on the same album by Divya Kumar and Kirtidan Gadhvi.

11Sonu Nigam
The Chaal Jeevi Laiye! soundtrack is seventeen minutes and twenty one seconds long across five tracks. Sachin-Jigar gave the second of them, Pa Pa Pagli, to Sonu Nigam. Everything else went to people who work in the language: Chaand Ne Kaho to Jigardan Gadhavi with Sachin Sanghvi and Tanishkaa Sanghvi, Ghanu Jeevo and its reprise to Keerthi Sagathia and Bhoomi Trivedi, and the unplugged version of Chaand Ne Kaho to Sachin Sanghvi himself. One marquee Hindi voice on one track out of five is the standard architecture of a Gujarati album with money behind it.
He has recorded over six thousand songs in more than thirty two languages and holds the Padma Shri, awarded in 2022. Chaal Jeevi Laiye! reported a gross around Rs 50 crore, which at the time made it one of the biggest Gujarati films ever released, and its songs leaked online before the official release. His single Gujarati credit is small in his catalogue and large in the film's, which is precisely the trade both sides signed up for.

12Jonita Gandhi
Love Ni Bhavai has seven tracks and four of them are alternate versions of the album's two hits. Of the three songs that stand on their own, Vhalam Aavo Ne went to Jigardan Gadhavi, Dhun Laagi went to Siddharth Amit Bhavsar, Athdaya Karu Chhu went to Punit Gandhi and Smita Nair Jain, and I Love You Re Mari Savaar went to Jonita Gandhi. Sachin-Jigar composed the album and Niren Bhatt wrote every word of it.
Her English Wikipedia entry names Gujarati among the languages she records in, alongside Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Marathi and Bengali. She is Canadian, from Brampton, she has 2,805,860 verified followers, and she has since moved into independent pop with her own EP. She is on this page for one song on one Gujarati album, and the reason that song exists is that the composer wanted a specific voice for a specific three minutes. That is the whole hiring logic of Gujarati playback in one credit.

13Jasleen Royal
Jasleen Royal's English Wikipedia lead states that she sings in Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali and Gujarati, which is a rare thing for the encyclopedia to bother recording, and both Gujarati credits check out. Katputhla on Wrong Side Raju in 2016, sung with Keerthi Sagathia under Sachin-Jigar. Mann Melo on Sharato Lagu, composed by Parth Bharat Thakkar, which appears three times on that album as the original, a sad reprise and a theme, every one of them with Siddharth Amit Bhavsar.
Mann Melo is the rarer achievement. It is one of a very small set of Gujarati film songs that comfortably outlived the film they came from, and it did it without a folk hook or a Navratri beat. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for Shershaah in 2022 and entered Hindi cinema in 2014 with Preet from Khoobsurat. Two Gujarati films is not a Gujarati career, and it is more than most Hindi playback names on this page managed.

14Shruti Pathak
Both of Shruti Pathak's Gujarati credits come from the same composer. She sang Haiyaa on Hellaro in 2019, five minutes and one second, with Aditya Gadhvi on backing vocals, and then the Umbarro title song in 2025 as a duet with Mehul Surti himself. Two films, six years apart, one composer, which says something about how a Gujarati music director builds a stable of voices and then keeps calling them.
The photograph is a small piece of local history. It was taken on 25 March 2012 at Flare, the festival at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University in Gandhinagar, and it shows her on stage between Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. Four years later Vishal Dadlani would sing two tracks on Wrong Side Raju and Shekhar Ravjiani would sing Kinare on Hurry Om Hurry. Three of the four people connected to that college stage ended up on Gujarati soundtracks. Her own bio, for the record, reads playback singer, guzzler, founder.

15Krishna Beuraa
Laalo runs thirty one minutes and one second across seven tracks, and the first of them is the longest thing on the album at seven minutes and nineteen seconds. Smmit Jay gave that track, Mann Mohan, to Krishna Beuraa. He then handed three tracks to Kirtidan Gadhvi, one to Aishwarya Majmudar with Gadhvi, one to Parthiv Gohil, one to Divya Kumar and closed the album with the folk singer Jaysinh Gadhavi on a traditional composition he had recreated rather than written.
Opening the highest grossing Gujarati film on record with a Hindi playback voice and closing it with a traditional Gujarati one is not an accident of availability. It is a casting decision, and it worked. Krishna Beuraa is best known for Maula Mere from Chak De India and Main Jahan Rahoon from Namastey London, he can sing in twenty two languages including his mother tongue Odia, and his bio lists him as a Bollywood singer, composer, photographer and TEDx speaker, which is more career than most people fit into one line.

16Roop Kumar Rathod
Every revival has a first song and this is it. Kevi Rite Jaish released in 2012 and is generally credited with restarting Gujarati cinema, and its title track, composed by Mehul Surti with lyrics by Jainesh Panchal, went to Roop Kumar Rathod. Four minutes and forty three seconds, opening an album that runs thirty nine minutes and fifty eight seconds across nine tracks, which is longer than almost any Gujarati soundtrack made since.
That album is worth studying as a blueprint because it did in 2012 what this page describes in 2026. It hired one Hindi veteran for the title track, gave Pankhida to Suraj Jagan as a rock reworking of a garba standard that went viral, put Parthiv Gohil and Aishwarya Majmudar together on Aa Safar, kept two songs for the composer Vishvesh Parmar and one for Mehul Surti himself, and handed the radio host Dhvanit Thaker a track. Mix imported voices with local ones, spend the marquee money once, and let the language carry the rest. Fourteen years later that is still the formula.

Once. Satrangi Re from Wrong Side Raju, composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Niren Bhatt and sung with Dawn Cordo, released on Red FM 93.5 on 23 August 2016. The Wrong Side Raju page records it as the first Gujarati song he had sung, and it passed a million YouTube views within twenty four hours. He has not recorded a second one.
Who sang the songs in Kutch Express and Vash?
Kutch Express has four tracks composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Sneha Desai: Mangamta Divso by Parthiv Gohil and Manasi Parekh, Ude Re Gulaal by Bhoomi Trivedi and Keerthi Sagathia, Udvun Che Aakash Ma by Divya Kumar and Jahnvi Shrimankar, and a remix of Ude Re Gulaal. Vash is the opposite case. Its film page carries no soundtrack section at all, and the only released piece under its name is Vash Theme, credited on streaming listings to Janki Bodiwala, Krishnadev Yagnik and the composers Kedar and Bhargav. A Gujarati film won a National Award with effectively no playback songs in it.
Why do folk singers keep turning up on Gujarati film soundtracks?
Because Gujarati cinema never built a separate playback establishment and the folk circuit already had the voices and the audience. Three of the nine most credited singers in the language, Aditya Gadhvi with nine films, Jigardan Gadhavi with six and Kirtidan Gadhvi with five, are live circuit artists first. When Smmit Jay cast Laalo he gave Kirtidan Gadhvi three of seven tracks.
