Twinkle Vijaygiri

Premji: Rise of a Warrior released on 10 July 2015. The producer field carries exactly one name, hers. Vijaygiri Bava directed and co-wrote it, the cast was drawn largely from the Gujarati theatre circuit with the Hindi actor Abhimanyu Singh alongside, and it was shot across more than twenty locations in Ahmedabad, Diu and Kutch in twenty five days.

It went on to receive ten Gujarat State Awards for 2015, including Best Film. For context on how unusual a single producer credit is in this language, the year Premji came out, Chhello Divas released with eight producers on it. She financed a period film about identity and violence, alone, in the same twelve months that eight people were needed to fund a college comedy.

Montu Ni Bittu released on 23 August 2019, and the producer field again carries one name. Prarthi Dholakia and Raam Mori wrote it, Maulik Nayak and Aarohi Patel led it, Mehul Surti scored it, and Vijaygiri Filmos was the banner. She is also credited as producer of the soundtrack, released on the Jazz Music label, which is a separate job that producers in this market usually hand off.

21mu Tiffin followed on 10 December 2021 and is the first time she shares the line, with Hiren Gosai's H & H Movies. It is adapted from Raam Mori's short story of the same name, from a collection that had won the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in 2017, and it is about a woman who runs a tiffin service. Three features and the producer field never runs past two names.

Saying a woman produces films in Gujarati cinema means very little without the denominator. In a credits database covering 117 unique Gujarati features released between 2014 and 2026, three were directed by a woman and none since 2018. Of the 111 films in it carrying producer data, 21 have a woman anywhere in the producer field. Fourteen of the 104 with writer data have a woman writing.

She holds three of those 21, which puts her among the very few women in the language with producer credits on more than one feature. The other names on that short list are Manasi Parekh and Aarti Patel. That is the entire population, and it is why a single sole producer credit on a Gujarati film carries more weight than a slate of shared ones.

Kasoombo, the 2024 period battle film, lists eight producers, and one of the names printed in that block is Twinkle Bava. On any generous reading that is a fourth credit. The IMDb-sourced credits database used across this site does not carry her on the film, and her own verified Instagram bio, which describes her as producer and founder of Vijaygiri FilmOs, tags exactly three titles and Kasoombo is not among them.

So this page counts three. It is worth pausing on how rare that direction of error is. Credit inflation is the ordinary sin of film producers everywhere, names added to posters for money or vanity or a favour owed. Here is a producer with a documented claim to a fourth feature who does not put it in her own bio. The conflict is left standing on this page rather than resolved, because the resolution she has chosen is more interesting than either answer.
